We installed a set of Crane 1.80 "Quick-Lift" roller rocker arms, Crane dual valve springs, and retuned and dynoed my car on Friday.

I gained 13 rear wheel horsepower and 8 lb-ft of torque over my last dyno numbers!

Muy bueno! :D

I think you are asking what the flywheel horsepower would be? :?:

If so, using the more conservative estimation formula (rwhp divided by .85 = fwhp), the motor is making approximately 473 horsepower at the flywheel. :)

Once again really cool results bro :)

You mentioned at the LS2 forum that you had a dip at about 5900 rpm, because of the rockers you were using. But i was wondering also, do you think that also the springs were involved on such lost :?:

You had 1.85 rockers, right? Now you have 1.8, that 0.5 would surelly increase the lift and the duration. What did you gain hp by decreasing the lift? was it because of the weight from the rockers???? :? :?: Or maybe due to some tuning matter.

BTW, you have a 3500 stall right :D ? How streetable is it? Many folks around here are wondering if they should go higher on the stall? Many are running as high as 2800, with huge cams (236+ .550+ 112-) And you are running a 3500 on a smaller cam, which has a faster ramp velocity. D

Once a again, congratulations Steve, now you are equal to Constrictor on the Hp zone :D I bet now you 60' times are gonna be really close to 1.6, with drag radials :D I am doing as good as 2.1

Well, thanks for reading buddy :)

Hey, Rudolph!

Well, I'll try to explain what happened. First, I put the SLP 1.85 rocker arms in my motor. Then Crane sent me their 1.80 rockers to test. They are true roller tip rocker arms, the SLP rockers are not. Anyway, I made about the same power with the Crane rockers even though I did lose some valve lift going from 1.85 to 1.80 (about 10/1000") because of their "Quick-Lift" technology. They are just better rocker arms.

I got the power dip because the Crane rocker arms didn't get along with the PRC dual valve springs I was using. When I replaced the PRCs with the Crane valve springs, the dip disappeared, and that's when I went to 402 horsepower. 8)

The 3500 torque converter is very streetable, but keep in mind that I have 3.73 rear gears. I had a 3500 in my 1999 Camaro SS also and it was a little loose, but not really bad at all. To me, it would be worth the little bit of looseness even with the 3.23 gears because the performance is so much better with a 3500 vs a 2800 or 3000. :D

I'm getting Nitto drag radials mounted on my rear wheels Thursday morning. I'll be happy with anything better than 2.00 60' times. With a little luck I should be able to cut 1.70s or 1.80s. I don't know about 1.60 though. :)

Well, now i confirm my idea that some times the valve springs totally mess with the harmony from a valve train. I remember that i guy on the LS2 forum mentioned that he lost 30 rwhp  with the G5X2 cam, by just messing with the wrong type of springs :x

Steve, how much do you have to pay for the new Crane rockers? Expensive? I can see that they are really worth it. I really want to know because maybe i will go with them for a rocker set. BTW, i was not able to close the deal with Mike from RMS :( really sorry Steve, there came up a problem. :?

But the point is that LG is gonna be hooking me up with the H/C combo, and they suggested me the G5X3 cam  They say is really streetable, and with 3.73 i will be really happy. I do not know if it is gonna be "streetable", i thought that the G5X2 is more than enough, both a monster cams, i hope i really turns out to be streetable :? BTW, do you have any idea how high can i go on the CR with 92 octane gasoline??? (obviously without problems).

Hehe! Once again hi jacking your thread, hehe! sorry! :D :P

The Crane roller rockers go for around US$700. So, yes, they are kind of expensive. :D

No problem regarding RMS. You got to do what you got to do. LG makes good stuff, but I think that G5X3 cam may be a bit much.

You should be able to go to about 11:1 CR, but I wouldn't go higher than that. 8)

Thanks a lot for the comments Steve, great help bud. I will really consider your suggestion on the X3, i think X2, is gonna be enough :P Thanks for the data on the CR, it will help for the heads :D

I hope you can come around more often :)
